There are a number of ways that you can help us make a difference in North West Georgia.  Send an email to dogpackrescue@hughes.net with a subject line of "I WANT TO VOLUNTEER" - we always need people to come to the shelter to help with the dogs, as well as come to adoptions on the weekends at Petsmart.

You must be a minimum of 18 years old to volunteer out at the shelter, (16-17 year olds) can come with a signed/notarized waiver signed by your guardian/parent(s).  Anyone under 16 yrs old must be accompanied by a guardian/parent while at the shelter.  To download this form, please  CLICK HERE.

To volunteer at adoption events at Petsmart, you must be a minimum of 14 yrs old, if you are younger than 14 your parents must accompany you at all times.

Become a Foster Parent

More than 100,000 dogs each year are euthanized in Atlanta area shelters. They aren't mean dogs, but scared. Most are so grateful, they listen to your rules. Some are owner surrenders, but may have been abused or neglected. We need long term foster homes that will patiently resocialize these poor canine's back into society. Fostering helps these dogs become adoptable. They become socialized, begin to trust humans, and learn how wonderful life can be inside a loving home. Fostering requires the following:

1) Feeding twice a day
2) Crating the dog when alone
3) Transporting the dog to the Vet
4) Bringing the dog to at least one adoption event every weekend.

Fundraising

Maybe you aren't cut out for fostering, maybe you already have a house full of dogs? What about helping with fundraising? The more people who help in fundraising, the more we can get accomplished! If you are interested in leading a benefit, etc. Just let us know what you are interested in doing, and we will help you help them!

Volunteer at Adoptions

We hold adoptions at Petsmart every weekend. We need volunteers to help answer questions, walk dogs, and make sure everyone is quiet and happy. If you can spare a few hours on the weekends, we would love your help! (No experience necessary!)

Sponsoring a Dog

Dogs like Andy, Stone, Hickory, and several of the Katrina dogs are Heartworm positive, which requires treatment that ranges anywhere from $350 to $500. Not to mention the dogs like Balley that had to have blood transfusions and Charlie that had to have eye surgery. Because Dog Pack Rescue is run on donations, if the money isn't there, there is only so much we can do. By sponsoring a dog, you are helping that dog find a forever home faster, as they are healthy and happy because of you!

Public Relations

Help us Help them! Dog Pack Rescue is looking for people who can devote a certain amount of hours during the week preparing press releases, sending in stories to local newspapers, contacting radio stations about upcoming Fundraisers, etc. If you are a people person, then maybe this is for you!

Graphic Designer

We are looking to create newsletter, brochures, flyers, posters, etc. If you are a talented artist, we definitely need you! Its all about getting their attention! If you can help set up a newsletter, or any graphic abilities that we can think of, you are definitely more than welcome to help!

In the Spring, Summer and Early Fall we can always use DOG BATHERS, and DOG GROOMERS that are available to come to our location on Fridays to help us get the dogs ready for adoptions.
